A MAPE tavaszi, A csikó és a sportló című rendezvényének fontos témája lesz a csikók lábállásbeli problémáinak kezelése, hiszen a megfelelő odafigyeléssel sok reménytelennek tűnő kiscsikóból is erős, egészséges sportló cseperedhet.
At the Spring-workshop of MAPE – entitled “The Foal and the Sport Horse” – we shall partly focus on the conformation disorders in foals, since by paying special attention to it plenty of otherwise hopeless individuals can develop into powerful and healthy sport horses.

Kaland 2017. január 22-én, -30°C-ban a legelőn látta meg a napvilágot. Anyja vemhesen került a ménesbe, az ellést azonban jóval későbbre várták. Nagy meglepetés volt tehát a kiscsikó érkezése, aki a hucul csikók esetében megszokott 25 kilogramm helyett mindössze 15 kilogrammot nyomott. A lábait megcsípte a fagy, kicsi volt és gyenge. A legtöbb állatorvos az elaltatását javasolta, de a ménes dolgozói szerettek volna adni neki egy esélyt. “Bárhol előfordulhat, hogy születik egy gyengébb csikó” – mondja Boros Krisztián ménesvezető. “Mi azonban nem mondtunk le róla.” |
Kaland was born on the 22nd January 2017 on the pasture – at minus 30°C. The mother became a part of the herd as she was already pregnant but the delivery was expected for much later. Accordingly the new-born was a big surprise and it was just 15 kg instead of the 25 kg common with Huculs. His feet were frostbitten, the foal was small and weak. Most of the vets suggested euthanasia, but the staff at the stud wanted to give him a chance. Krisztián Boros, the head-of-unit said: “A weak foal might get born anywhere but we were not giving up.” |

Kaland életének első hetét a meleg szobában töltötte, gondozói cumisüvegből etették, felállni és állni csak segítséggel tudott, bal mellső lába lábtőben hátrafelé hajlott. Egy hetesen bár segítség kellett neki a felálláshoz, állni már egyedül is tudott. |
Adventure spent the first week of his life in a warm room, was bottle-fed and was not only assisted when getting up but he could not even stand on his own; the left forelimb was deviated in the carpus caudally. After a week, although help was still required to get up, he could already stand alone. |
